Create a transport record

Create a transport record to declare the vehicle carrying the goods into Norway. The record identifies the mode of transport, the vehicle, and its arrival details.

  1. Open Maritech Cloud.

  2. Go to Digitoll > Transport.

  3. Select the + icon.

    Create Digitoll Transport window appears.

  4. On the General tab, link this transport to existing records, if required. Select one or more Masters, or one or more Houses. You can't select both Masters and Houses for the same transport.

  5. Enter the remaining mandatory General tab fields.

    • MODE OF TRANSPORT: Select Road, Rail, Air, or Maritime.

    • DOCUMENT ISSUE DATE: Digitoll populates this field with the current date. Change the date only if required.

    • Enter the optional field such as LINKED TRIP or select LOCKED.

  6. When the Mode of Transport is Air, the UPU Postal Item dropdown is displayed as a mandatory field.

  7. If you select Maritime Transport as the mode of transport, complete these additional General tab fields.

    • PASSIVE MASTERS: Select the masters that remain on board at the current port.

    • PASSIVE HOUSES: Select the houses that remain on board at the current port.

      Note: The Port field is visible on the ARRIVAL AND CUSTOMS tabs.

  8. Select the CARRIER & REPRESENTATIVE tab.

  9. Enter all the mandatory details in the REPRESENTATIVE section.

    • REPRESENTATIVE: Enter the representative's name. Select the matching entry from the list.

    • REPRESENTATIVE COMMUNICATION TYPE: Select Electronic mail or Telephone.

    • REPRESENTATIVE COMMUNICATION: Enter the email address or phone number that matches the communication type.

  10. In the CARRIER section, enter all the mandatory field same as the representative section (Step 8), plus one additional field.

    • CARRIER EORI NUMBER: Digitoll auto-populates this field from the country code and the organization number. Edit the field to enter a different number.

  11. Select the OPERATOR tab.

  12. Complete the OPERATOR tab fields. These fields are mandatory only when the mode of transport is Road or Maritime. The fields are optional for Rail and Air.

    • NAME: Enter the operator's (driver's) name.

    • COMMUNICATION TYPE: Select Electronic mail or Telephone.

    • COMMUNICATION: Enter the email address or phone number that matches the communication type.

  13. Select the TRANSPORT MEANS tab.

  14. Complete the TRANSPORT MEANS tab fields.

    • TRANSPORT TYPE ID: Enter the identifier for the transport. The required format depends on the mode of transport. For Maritime, enter the IMO identification number. For Rail, enter the wagon or train number. For Road, enter the vehicle registration number.

    • TRANSPORT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER: Enter the specific transport identification number.

    • TRANSPORT TYPE MEANS: Select the transport type from the list.

    • CONVEYANCE REFERENCE NUMBER: Enter the conveyance reference number, if available.

    • TRANSPORT NATIONALITY: Select the nationality of the transport from the list.

  15. Select the ARRIVAL AND CUSTOMS tab.

  16. Complete the ARRIVAL AND CUSTOMS tab fields.

    • CUSTOMS OFFICE CODE: Select the Norwegian customs office code.

    • ETA: Enter the estimated time of arrival.

  17. If you selected Maritime as the mode of transport, complete these additional fields.

    • LOCATION OF FIRST ENTRY: Enter the country code and location code. Example: NOOSL.

  18. The Itinerary / Port Calls section on the Arrival and Customs tab displays the port call details for the transport. The section contains the following fields:

    • Sequence Number - Displays the order of the port call.

    • Arrival Date - Displays the date of arrival at the port.

    • Arrival Time - Displays the time of arrival at the port.

    • Departure Date - Displays the date of departure from the port.

    • Stop Event Type - Displays the type of stop event (for example, NEXT_PORT_CALL).

    • Stop Location - Displays the port location code (for example, NOOSL).

    Note: To add a new port call entry, select the + icon.

  19. After entering all the required details, select Save.
    Note: The Save button is always visible. On the first save, the Create dialog closes and the user is directed to the Entry View grid.

  20. Check the status field.

    • If the status shows Ready, continue to submit the record.

    • If the status shows Incomplete, complete the missing fields and select Save again.

Digitoll saves the transport record with a status of Ready or Incomplete. If the status shows Ready, continue to submit the record.
